Flights to Norfolk Island
Qantas operates direct flights from Brisbane and Sydney, with up to five services a week. We can arrange connecting flights from anywhere in Australia, so your whole journey is taken care of.
Norfolk Island has a single airport, with only one flight arriving at a time. No queues, no confusion, just friendly faces waiting to help. You'll be checked into your accommodation within 30 minutes of landing, and at the beach ten minutes after that.

Entry requirements
What you'll need to enter
Australian travellers need photo identification to enter Norfolk Island. Any one of the following is accepted.
Australian Passport
The most common form of identification for travel to Norfolk Island.
Driver's Licence
A valid Australian driver's licence is accepted.
Government-Issued Photo ID
Any identification card issued by a state or federal government that features your photo.

Biosecurity and customs
Norfolk Island is a protected environment, so quarantine rules apply to what you bring in. Fresh fruit, vegetables, plants, seeds and some food items need to be declared or left behind. The good news: you won't need to bring food at all, the island has its own grocery stores, local butchers and plenty of local produce, so enjoy shopping local instead.
Money and currency
Norfolk Island uses the Australian Dollar. Card payments are widely accepted, though it's worth carrying some cash for smaller shops, markets and local stalls.
What to pack
Norfolk Island has a mild, subtropical climate year-round, warmer and more humid from December to February, cooler and wetter from June to August. A light jacket for evenings, comfortable walking shoes and swimwear are worth packing whatever time of year you visit.

Staying connected
Mobile reception and Wi-Fi are available across most of the island, though coverage can be patchy in some areas. Most accommodation includes Wi-Fi, check with your host if you need to stay properly connected.
